Brownwood Farms, an old fashioned idea, has evolved into a premier specialty food producer in Northern Michigan. On the shores of Torch Lake in 1945, Mary Louis Morse created some of America's firsts in finest flavors; Cherry Butter and Kream Mustard.

Today's Brownwood continues the old fashioned way; small batches, hand measured, gently stirred without automation. Kream Mustard and Cherry Butter, 60 year old favorites, have now joined over forty new fine food products. The base ingredients are always the best Michigan grown fruits and Michigan sugars. Maintaining the tradition of small batches allows us to continually monitor our high standards of quality. We evaluate every batch for consistency, taste and USDA standards. While we feel no one has come close to making comparable products, it's flattering to know many of our competitors still keep trying!

Other than food made in your own kitchen, nothing is more fresh or cared for more deeply than the products we make everyday in our Brownwood Farms kitchen. You see, nothing really has changed since 1945, other than the fact that we may make 150 cases of Original Cherry Butter on any given day instead of just a few.
